Why Doesn't God Destroy Satan?

Why doesn't God just destroy Satan and rid the world of him? Because God still has plans to use Satan to accomplish God's purposes.

The last time God will use Satan is at the end of the Millennium, the thousand year period when Jesus will establish his reign on the Earth and Satan will be locked in the Abyss, also called the Bottomless Pit. During the Millennium, the Earth will be inhabited by the resurrected saints that were caught up in the Rapture. Revelation 20:4. There will also be naturally born humans who survived the Tribulation. These naturally born humans will multiply and prosper under Jesus reign. If someone dies before the age of 100, people will say that he must have been cursed. Isaiah 65:20. It will also be a time of peace and safety. The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. Isaiah 11:6.

The natural born humans will not have much opportunity to sin because Jesus will rule the nations with a rod of iron. Revelation 19:15. Therefore, it will be hard to tell the people who love Jesus from the people who would rebel against Jesus if they had the chance.

So, at the end of the Millennium, Satan will be released from the Abyss and he will go around the Earth and gather up all of the people who are ready to rebel against Jesus. God's plan is to let Satan separate the sheep from the goats. When Satan and his army march against Jerusalem, fire from heaven will destroy Satan's army. Satan will then be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:7-10.

Then will come the Great White Throne Judgment when all people will be judged. Everyone whose name is not recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life will also be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Everyone whose name is found in the Lamb's Book of Life will go into the Marriage Supper of The Lamb and then into the New Jerusalem and the New Earth. Revelation 20:11-15.
